Uplands School is currently accepting applications for Preparatory Internship programme.

Uplands School is set on a beautiful 110-hectare estate and provides education from Grade 0000 to Grade 12. As a member of ISASA (Independent Schools Association of Southern Africa) and ABESA (Anglican Board of Education of South Africa), Uplands is committed to delivering holistic education that integrates academics, sport, and culture, while fostering innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As a Preparatory Intern, you will gain exposure to a range of educational responsibilities, including:

  • Classroom Support: Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management, and one-on-one student support.
  • Sports Coaching: Helping to coach a variety of sports and encouraging teamwork and skill development.
  • Academic & Extracurricular Activities: Participating in and assisting with the school’s full-day academic, cultural, and sporting programme.
  • Collaboration: Working alongside experienced educators and coaches to achieve the school’s goals.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year student at a South African university, studying towards a B.Ed, PGCE, or related qualification.
  • South African citizenship is required.
  • Must provide a clear Criminal Clearance Certificate.
  • Proof of year-end academic results must be submitted.

Advantageous:

  • Experience in an ISASA school or with the IEB curriculum.
  • Exposure to a boarding school environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
