BASF Production Trainee Program
This is a trainee opportunity where the successful incumbent will gain day to day experience in a challenging work environment and on-the-job training as part of the production team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensuring that all maintenance requirements of the function are carried out timeously and effectively in the department
- Ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy working environment in line with the OSH Act & the EHSQ Policy
- Maintaining relevant aspects of the Quality Management System
- Placing of raw materials on the production floor
- Ensuring that product filled has been passed by Quality Control
- Transporting raw materials and finished products using forklifts
- Carrying out regular plant inspections as per checklist during shifts
- Assisting in the maintenance of a high standard of safety and housekeeping in the area of work and in general
- Keeping all protective equipment and other equipment clean, neat and tidy
- Responsible for the safe operation of plant and equipment
- Carrying out regular plant inspections as per checklist during shifts
- Ensuring monthly productivity improvement targets are met
- Performing any other additional duties within the role specification as and when required from time to time
- Adhering to and compliance with all BASF guidelines and procedures
- Ensuring all requirements of the function are carried our timeously and effectively within the department

REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
- Minimum NQF Level 2 theory completed for Chemical Operators and practical training component outstanding only, or Completed N6 in Chemical engineering requiring practical training
