About Black Rock Mine Operations Bursary

Black Rock Mine Operations is currently accepting applications for 2026 academic year bursaries.

4 bursaries will be awarded to students residing within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality (Northern Cape), for studies preferably within the following fields:

• BCom: Accounting, Economics, Law, Human Resources, Business Management
• BA: Public Administration, Journalism, Communications, Industrial and Organisational Psychology
• Bachelor of Social Science/ Social Work
• Bachelor in Education
• LLB
• BSc: Actuarial Science, Agriculture, Architecture, Engineering, Geology, Quantity Surveying, Computer Science
• Bachelor of Pharmacy
• Bachelor of Nursing
• MBChB
• Town and Regional Planning

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

• You must be a South African citizen
• You must reside within the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality, in the Northern Cape province
• You must be between 18 and 35 years old
• You must have completed Matric
• You must be studying full-time towards a qualification in one of the fields listed above
• You must be in your 1st, 2nd or final year of study
• You must be studying or have been accepted to study at an accredited University or University of Technology in South Africa
• You must have achieved a minimum of level 5 for Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric, if studying within a Science field
• You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% in Matric, if studying within any other field (non-Science)
• You must meet the minimum requirements to study towards your selected qualification
• You must be in financial need and meet the means test requirements
• You must NOT be receiving any other bursary funding or student loan
• Preference will be given to students from a historically disadvantaged background
