About CETA Bursary
The Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA) has an opportunity for bursaries targeted for 20 – 50 CET Lecturers employed and teaching in the Construction, Civil Engineering and Built Environment related Faculties / Departments.
These CET Lecturer Bursaries are aimed at enabling and capacitating lecturers in meeting minimum and advanced lecturer requirements for those teach in the disciplines that fall within the CETA Organizing Framework for Occupations (OFO) scop.
To achieve the above transformative and developmental objective stated above; CETA invites interested individual CET lecturers and /or CET Colleges to apply for the CETA CET Lecturer Bursaries for studies from the 2025 academic year until completion of the programme / currently enrolled for.
The current and / or intended future studies should atleast be in the following disciplines:
- Advanced TVET Diploma, Advanced Diploma / Honours in Education majoring in construction, engineering and / or built environment studies of atleast NQF 7 and above.
- STEM related / advanced studies that advance the construction and / or built environment disciplines at Honours, Masters and PhDs.
- Civil, electrical engineering, construction and construction project management, and the related qualifications.

For the application to be considered, the following must be met:
- Must be a Lecturer in any CET College in the fields that are relevant to the mandate of CETA. Preference will be given to Advanced Diploma STEM (Science, Technology. Engineering and Mathematics) Qualifications and Construction / Build Environment studies by CET Lecturers and/or other Construction related courses.
- Must be a South African citizen, RSA naturalized person (permanent residents).
- Must still be within the working age (not passed normal retirement age) and have the same period before retirement equating to number of years funded for through the CETA CET Lecturer Bursary.
- Currently registered in an Institution of higher learning or have an acceptance for studies from 2025 academic year.
The following minimum documentation to be submitted together with the application for the CET Lecturer Bursary:
- Proof of employment by a CET College within the RSA.
- Recently certified Identity Document not older 6 months.
- Proof of registration with an Institution of higher learning or acceptance for the studies mentioned in this advert.
