COJ Graphic Design Internships

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Group Communication and Marketing Department (GCSS) is accepting applications for Graphic Design Internship programme available for a period NOT exceeding eighteen 18 months.

  • Remuneration: R9 960,45 per month

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12/Matric plus a National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Graphic Design or Computer Graphics or a related field (like Visual Arts) OR Degree (NQF level 7) in Graphic Design subject or Computer Graphics or related field ( Like Visual Arts);
  • The candidate will be expected to have knowledge and an understanding of graphic design and/or visual design and its compatible software by using design tools including design software (Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, Toon Boom ect.) to create complex concepts by designing and presenting rough drafts of art (i.e., size, colour, typography, images, style, layout and related aesthetic concepts).
  • Only City of Joburg residents will be considered.

  • Consult and communicate on the design and production of visual communication materials;
  • Using technology and graphic design tools to bring data (with or without narratives) to lie with creativity and artistic expression;

  • Crafting and editing content for script, narrations or voiceovers;
