CSIR Human Capital Administrator Internship
The CSIR has a vacancy for a Human Capital Administrator Internship in the Human Capital Management Portfolio. This is an entry-level position aiming to provide secretarial and administrative support to the Senior Manager: Learning and Capability Development and Corporate Social Investment (LCD & CSI) and the team in ensuring the efficient and effective smooth running of the portfolio. This position is based in Pretoria.
This position reports to the Senior Manager: Learning Capability Development and Corporate Social Development.
About the Portfolio:
The HC Development and Management portfolio is a requisite pillar in ensuring the achievement of the CSIR’s strategic objective of building and transforming the required human capital and embedding the values of CSIR’s Excellence, People-centred, Integrity and Collaboration (EPIC).
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the Senior Manager’s office by ensuring diary management, do travel and accommodation arrangements; having documentation ready for meetings; managing and controlling the department’s stationery; co-ordinate equipment maintenance; telephonic communication;
- Maintain an efficient and effective filing system and receiving and dispatching documentation through a mechanism to track documentation flow to ensure document management;
- Produce documents by using all required software, including presentations; document formatting, spreadsheets, etc. for the department;
- Arrange meetings and events including the venue; refreshments; invites, equipment, etc. according to the needs of the department, for example induction;
- Draft agendas for meetings and/ or minute taking in line with specific meeting purpose and objective to follow up on actions to be taken;
- Follow up on outstanding invoices and check if invoices are paid;
- Coordinate and align Portfolio annual calendar with CSIR Human Capital annual calendar;
- Coordinate the on-boarding process of the Portfolios.

Qualifications, skills and experience:
- A National diploma in administration or HR-related field;
- Must have excellent administrative skills;
- Service orientation;
- Good relationship builder;
- Self-Reliance, use own discretion, initiative;
- Problem-solving skills;
- Ability to exercise tact and good judgment with highly sensitive information
- Organizing skills
- All international qualifications require an evaluation report / certificate issued by the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
