Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture Bursary

Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture is currently accepting applications for 2026 academic year bursaries.

Bursaries will be awarded for studies within the following fields:

The bursary will provide cover for the following expenses: registration fees, tuition fees, accommodation, meals and prescribed textbooks.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES:

The bursary will NOT provide cover for historical debt/ outstanding fees.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

You must be a South African citizen
You must be currently in Matric or have completed Matric/ NCV
You must have completed the following subjects in Matric: Mathematics and Physical Science (for Agricultural Engineering or Bio-Resource Engineering students) OR Life Science, Physical Science and
Mathematics (for Veterinary Technology students)
You must be studying or intend on studying towards a qualification within one of the fields of study listed above
You must be studying or intend on studying at a registered Higher Education Institution in South Africa
You must be unemployed
You must be in financial need, with a total household income of NOT more than R350 000 or NOT more than R600 000 if living with a disability
Preference will be given to youth residing in the Eastern Cape, who are unemployed and from historically disadvantaged groups (however, students from outside of the Eastern Cape province may also apply)
