AfriSam is recruiting and accepting applications for Environmental Practitioner vacancy.
Responsibilities:
- Developing, with the Operational Management, corrective measures of areas of noncompliance
identified during evaluations and audits. - Assisting and advising Management on environmentally related trends and legislation.
- Conducting environmental audits at operational level.
- Conducting induction and environmental awareness training within Dudfield.
- Contributing to triple bottom line initiatives.
- Conducting research of environmental related information.
- Environmental input into operational aspects relating to the setting of operational strategy, mining,
processes, rehabilitation. - Legal responsibility appointment (water, waste, NEMA).
- Facilitating awareness of the relationship between environmental risk and short-term strategies that
may affect long-term environmental objectives and sustainability. - Representing Management as a Representative for ISO 14001.

Experience and Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Environmental or Natural Sciences/Degree in Environmental Management.
- Five years’ experience in a mining or industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
- Must be declared medically fit after medical examination.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Environmental Law; Environmental auditing; Environmental management systems; Risk
management, Mine Health & Safety Act.
