INTERN: HR & TRAINING
The Intern: Human Resources and Training will contribute towards the efficient administration and co ordination of human resources and training related projects in the Organization. The Intern reports to the Assistant Manager: Human Resources and Training.
Key performance areas: A 24-month internship programme designed to provide qualified graduates with a unique opportunity to gain valuable skills in a supportive environment, learning on-the-job and work experience.
Exposure and training will be provided in the following areas where assistance is required:
- Assist in the implementation of human resources generalist practices and administrative duties.
- Employee Relations, Employee Wellness, Skills Development, Performance Management.
- Recruitment and Selection (advertisements, appointments, transfer, verification of qualifications, secretarial functions at interviews, absorptions, probationary periods, etc).
- Implement conditions of services (Leave, injury on duty, long service recognition, relocation, etc).
- Assist in developing training plans, collation of training reports and submission of training reports.
INTERN: OUTREACH & COMMUNICATIONS
The Intern: Communications and Research will assist in the development and implementation of a Communications Strategy and Plan for the province, assist and conduct research, and be involved in stakeholder management process of the organisation. The Intern will report to the Assistant Manager: Outreach.

Exposure and training will be provided in the following areas where assistance is required:
- Conceptualisation and development of the provincial Communication strategy and plans aimed at increasing participation in election processes.
- Promoting democracy education and understanding, as well as advocating and enhancing the brand of the Electoral Commission
- Development of appropriate methodologies, approaches and media, with emphasis to reach youth across the province.
- Co-coordinating communication plans, that is, both internal and external;
- Maintain liaison with all major communications stakeholders including the print and electronic media.
- Development of the publicity plans of the province, promoting the internal publication tools and monitoring progress in the communications area.
- Assist with Outreach related activities.
- Undertake research in electoral processes, situational conditions across the municipalities in the province, socio economic conditions that impact on constitutional democracy in general and electoral processes in particular.
- Research and analysis of organisational data as it relates to various aspects of internal operations in past elections.
- As part of the provincial team, assist with other initiatives in the province, including Electoral Operations and Civic & Democracy Education.
