MultiChoice is accepting applications for Talent Factory Internship programme.

Eligible graduates who are passionate about telling their own stories are encouraged to apply for the film skills development programme and stand a chance to have a unique opportunity to improve their skills and ultimately contribute to the growth of the local and pan African film and broadcasting industries.

Now in its 10th year, the MTF South Africa is a 12-month long industry readiness programme that affords the opportunity to learn from some of the leading TV producers in the country, while acquiring valuable experience in directing, producing, cinematography, commissioning, art direction and many other skills.

“The MTF Academy is our commitment to the future of our industry and gives young Africans the chance to hone their television and film production skills through a world-class training programme. After so many successful years, we’re proud to announce a new call to entry to and look forward to meeting the next generation of African film makers,” says Bobby Heaney, Director of MultiChoice Talent Factory South Africa.

Why Join the MTF?

The MTF programme is more than just a hands-on training experience, successful applicants get to join and work on some of the best professional TV productions in the country in every aspect of TV- and film-making from conceptualisation to broadcast, mastering skills such as:

  • Story-lining & Scriptwriting
  • Directing & Assistant Director work
  • Producing & Production Management
  • Cinematography & Post Production
  •  Art Direction & Wardrobe
  • Sound Recording and Final Mix
  • Commissioning and broadcasting

Since its launch in 2015, the MTF Academy has upskilled over 140 storytellers, many of whom have gone on to work on series like Gomorra, The River, The Queen, Youngins, Adulting, and reality TV series like Idols, Survivor and Miss SA.

MORE OPPORTUNITIES:

MTF graduates have formed over a score of production companies such as A Tribe Called Story, Eccentric Circus and Zetha’s Tales. These young story tellers are now employing people to make movies and content that is being screened on Mzansi Magic, Showmax and other streaming platforms.
