NSFAS 2025 Applications are officially open. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme bursary is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents with a combined household income of not more than R350 000 per annum.

Who is Eligible for NSFAS Bursaries
To apply for an NSFAS bursary, you must meet the following criteria:
- South African Citizenship
- Household Income: Must not exceed R350,000 per year
- If you are a student with a disability, your household income must not exceed R600,000 per year.
- Academic Qualifications: You must have passed Grade 9 and be registered or intend to register at a public university or TVET college for the 2025 academic year.

How to Apply for NSFAS
Applying for NSFAS is simple and can be done entirely online. Follow these steps to ensure a successful application:
- Verify Eligibility and Prepare Documentation.
- Create Your myNSFAS Account at https://my.nsfas.org.za/.
- Submit and Track Your Application.
- Await the Outcome.
Submit Supporting Documents
You will need to upload the following documents:
- Certified copy of your ID
- Parent or guardian’s certified ID copies (if applicable)
- Proof of income or affidavit (for parents/guardians or yourself if unemployed)
- Disability certificate (if applicable)
- Recent academic results
Review your application carefully before submitting. Once submitted, you can track the status of your application on the NSFAS portal.
