Pepkor IT Service Desk Operator Internships

Pepkor IT is seeking a dynamic candidate to join their Service Desk Operator team and gain valuable experience in the field of IT support. To be able to assist staff and provide basic application assistance of software and/or hardware support to remote stores. Support includes ensuring the ongoing usability of software/hardware in stores, high standards of customer services support to functional needs and the management of data integrity at stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level telephonic support to end-users via phone, email, or in-person relating to hardware and software issues.
  • Log all calls on the call tracking system.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT personnel and follow up on issue resolution
  • Offer excellent customer service by addressing end-users’ inquiries and concerns in a professional and friendly manner
  • Ensure all calls remain within the SLA of the company.
  • Escalating unresolved issues to Tier II groups.
  • Continually upskill own knowledge of support products and solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric
  • A relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology or a related field is required.
  • Strong interest in information technology and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
  • 1 year experience in troubleshooting software issues is advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Troubleshooting hardware components and software incidents via the phone is advantageous.
  • Retail environment experience advantageous.
