Unitrans is recruiting and accepting applications for the following vacancies:

Bus Driver

MB Transport a Division of Unitrans Passenger is seeking to employ Professional Bus Drivers with proven experience. Drives a bus to transport passengers on scheduled services over established routes. Controls lighting, heating and ventilation for the passengers. Observes prescribed speeds, traffic, travelling conditions an signals to ensure the safe arrival of passengers.

Ensures passengers arrive at destinations on time. Holds the appropriate license and a PrDP. This category is restricted commercial contrast which are not subsidized by government.

What unique contribution does this work make to the organization?

Must have a Public Services Driving License (PG), mastery of defensive and preventive driving techniques, ensuring the safety of both passengers and other road users. Furthermore, you must know and strictly obey traffic laws, avoiding infractions and accidents. Comply with company code of conduct, policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualification: Grade 12, Job-specific training, and Driver’s license categories: CE – G, CE – PG, and C – G.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in the same or similar position.

Diesel Mechanic

An opportunity has arisen for a Mechanic: responsible for the repairing and maintenance of all diesel/petrol/ machines, motor vehicles, pumps, generators in a company. Diagnoses, identifies and rectifies mechanical problems on vehicles and equipment. Plans work procedure. Overhauls or replaces carburettors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps. Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks.

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified Artisan or 5 year recognized apprentice
  • Valid driver’s license, preferably EC
  • Up to 3 years’ experience

Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver

An opportunity has arisen for an Ultra-heavy Motor Vehicle Driver on a seasonal basis to operate a motor vehicle, the gross vehicle mass or gross combination mass of which does not exceed 56 000 kg.

  • Code EC PrDP – “D” if required to operate a DG vehicle
