About Joe Morolong Assmang Bursary

Assmang Black Rock Mine Operations in partnership with Joe Morolong Local Municipality is accepting applications for 2025 academic year bursaries.

Bursaries will be awarded to students residing within the municipal area (Northern Cape), for undergraduate studies preferably within one of the following fields:

  • Agricultural Science
  • Biochemistry
  • Commerce
  • Education
  • Information Technology
  • Law
  • MBCHB / Medical Doctor and Nursing
  • Social Science
  • Town and Regional Planning

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • You must reside within the Joe Morolong Local Municipality, in the Northern Cape province
  • You must be have completed Matric with academic achievements relevant to your field of study
  • You must be studying or intend on studying full-time, towards an undergraduate Technical or Non-Technical qualification, in 2025
  • You must be studying or have been accepted to study at a recognised and accredited University or University of Technology in South Africa
  • You must be in financial need and meet the financial means test requirements
  • You must be from a historically disadvantaged background
  • You must NOT be in receipt of any other bursary funding or student loan
  • Preference will be given to students from designated groups (i.e. Historically Disadvantaged Institutions)
