South African Chefs Association Bursary
South African Chefs Association is currently accepting applications for 2025 academic year bursaries.
Bursaries will be awarded to young trainees studying to become chefs, for studies towards a professional cookery programme, preferably in Occupational Qualifications, Cook and Chef.
With the backing of its generous sponsors, the South African Chefs Association provides a well-structured bursary fund designed to support aspiring chefs in their training. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply and seize this fantastic opportunity to further their culinary careers.
The bursary will provide partial cover for tuition fees, to the value of R30 000. Funding is paid directly to the Training Provider.

Chosen applicants must be willing to participate in PR activities for SA Chefs and its sponsors. The Bryan Montgomery Bursary Fund selection panel carefully reviews all applications, and successful candidates will receive written notification within 2 months of the application deadline. All decisions made by the panel are final, and no further correspondence will be entertained.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying:
- You must be a South African citizen and be residing permanently in South Africa
- You must be between 18 and 25 years old
- You must have completed Matric or a recognised equivalent qualification
- You must be currently enrolled in a recognised culinary training program, at a SA Chefs Skills Development Provider Member institution
- You must be studying towards a course that has a minimum duration of 12 months
- You must intend on pursuing a career in professional cookery
- You must be or become an SA Chefs Member once enrolled at the culinary school
